About
Equal Rides

Equal Rides was developed by three North Carolina A&T students to address the issue of homelessness and poverty, and lack of votes from this marginalized group in the Greensboro, NC area. Through Equal Rides, those who are dispossessed can access free transportation within the city â€‹to their jobs, schools, hospitals, etc. without the hassle of public transportation. Through the assistance of the fortunate members of community, volunteers can transport those in need.

Most importantly, Equal Rides wants to address the lack of voter accessibility. Now that North Carolina does not require a place of residency or photo ID to vote (both difficult for the homeless to access), the only problem left is getting to the polls. Hence, the purpose for Equal Rides.

Our Mission

To provide equal access to the homeless by bridging the gap through use of transportation to exercise the natural right to live and vote.
